Sewage Treatment Plant Installation

Reliable installation of modern sewage treatment plants

A sewage treatment plant installation in a residential home, either as new or as a replacement for an old system requires careful planning. Our expert staff are on hand to help you with any queries you may have about the purchasing and installation of your sewage plant. With over 50 years experience, Owls Hall Environmental is one of the UK’s leading sewage treatment plant installation companies. 4% of the population of the UK do not have access to mains drainage. Where there is no access to the mains, either a domestic sewage treatment plant or a septic tank is required. A sewage treatment plant represents the modern-day substitute for the older septic tank.

Why install a sewage treatment plant?

The domestic sewage treatment plant’s purpose is to take in all of the wastewater from a residence and then to provide an environment for microorganisms to feed upon and decompose the pollutants within the waste. They produce a treated effluent that is clean enough to be discharged into a natural watercourse like a stream or ditch.

Sewage treatment systems are available in a variety of styles that have different advantages and can suit any budget. It is the law in the UK that all treatment plants undergo an EN12566/3 type test, which certifies whether a product can be defined as a “treatment plant”. It does not assess or comment on the quality of the build, parts, or the desludging intervals, which can vary dramatically between models.

Because the purchase of a wastewater system is a substantial outlay, it is vital to make the correct decision at the start. At Owls Hall, we are proud of our status as an independent company. What this means for our customers is that we provide an unbeatable service that is personalised to your needs.

What Should you Expect During a Sewage Treatment Plant Installation?

If you are interested in the installation of a new sewage treatment plantseptic tank, pumping station, rainwater harvesting solution, or any of the range of specialist products that we supply, we will make a visit to your property to conduct a survey.

Amongst the things which we will be looking at are:

  • The suitability of the land for the product
  • Access to the grounds
  • The type of machinery required and the number of staff we think may be required to carry out the work
  • Testing which may need to be carried out on site
  • Current systems installed in the ground
  • Location of utility pipes and watercourses

It is likely that we may take some measurements to help us put a detailed quote together. The steps are as follows:

  • Step 1 – We will ask you some questions to gain a better understanding of your requirements, your property and the ground conditions.
  • Step 2 – An estimate or quote will be sent to you in the post, detailing the work we envisage and the total cost involved.
  • Step 3 – If you are interested in having the work carried out, we usually ask for a 10% deposit to secure the work. The parts will then be sourced and we will then arrange a convenient time for us to come on site.

Every job is different and we know that customers will have concerns regarding disruption and the nature of the works that we carry out, so we will always give you as much information as we can about the work that we will do.

As much of the work that we carry out is below ground, it will usually require the use of digging equipment and some disruption to your garden or driveway. We will always look to minimise the impact wherever possible.

We will specify, supply and install the most suitable system for your property. Our engineers take great care to ensure there is a minimal amount of disruption and for this reason all installations include ground care protection.  We can carefully remove and relay turf is required and/or apply around protection mats, endeavouring to leave the property exactly the same way we found it.
